The Article Rewriter and Paraphraser helps you draft an alternate version of your own text by substituting words with contextually appropriate synonyms. Choose from three rewriting strengths: Light (replaces roughly 30% of eligible words) for subtle variation that preserves the original voice; Medium (50%) for a noticeably different version that still reads naturally; or Heavy (70%) for a version that reads quite differently from the source. The tool respects original capitalisation — a capitalised word stays capitalised after replacement — and only replaces complete words at word boundaries, so partial matches inside longer words are never changed. All processing is instant and runs entirely in your browser. This is a simple synonym-substitution tool, not a grammar or meaning-aware rewriter — always read and edit the output before using it anywhere, and never submit rewritten text as someone else's original work.
How to use — step by step
- 1
Open the Article Rewriter
Go to the free Article Rewriter and Paraphraser on Instant Tools Hub. No sign-up required.
- 2
Paste your original text
Copy your own draft, paragraph, or sentence and paste it into the input area on the left side.
- 3
Choose rewriting strength
Select Light (30% word replacement) for subtle changes, Medium (50%) for a clearly different version, or Heavy (70%) for a version that reads quite differently.
- 4
Click Rewrite
Press Rewrite. The tool substitutes eligible words with synonyms based on your chosen strength level.
- 5
Copy the rewritten text
Review the output carefully. Click Copy to use the paraphrased version. Edit manually — synonym substitution often produces awkward phrasing that needs a human pass.
Common use cases
Rewording your own drafts
Try an alternate phrasing of a paragraph you wrote, then edit the result by hand — useful when you are stuck on how to say something differently.
Content repurposing
Adapt your own blog post for a different audience or platform by drafting a differently-worded starting point, then editing it properly.
Academic paraphrasing practice
Students can use the tool to see one example of word-level paraphrasing — this is a starting point for practice, not a substitute for writing and citing in your own words.
Vocabulary variation while editing
Generate synonym alternatives for repetitive word choices in your own writing, then pick the ones that fit best.
Frequently asked questions
How to rewrite an article free online?
Paste your text into our free Article Rewriter, choose Light/Medium/Heavy strength, and click Rewrite. Use the output as an editing starting point, not a finished piece.
How to paraphrase text free online?
Use our free Paraphraser tool. Paste your text, select rewriting strength, and get a paraphrased draft with synonym substitutions instantly — then edit it by hand.
Can I use this to publish someone else's article as my own?
No. This tool only swaps individual words for synonyms — it does not create original work, and publishing rewritten text as your own when it started as someone else's content is both a copyright problem and against most platforms' content policies, including Google's guidance on scaled or spun content.
Is the rewritten text grammatically correct?
In most cases yes, but because synonyms are substituted without deep grammar analysis, some sentences may need light manual editing, especially at Heavy strength.
Is there a word limit for the rewriter?
No hard limit. Very large texts (10,000+ words) may take a moment to process, but the tool handles standard article lengths (500–3,000 words) instantly.
